PURPOSE: To produce a metal cord for the reinforcement of a rubber article having excellent oblique shear strength characteristics and produce a composite material such as tire, conveyor belt or high-pressure hose produced by embedding the metal cord as a reinforcing material in a rubber.

CONSTITUTION: This metal cord is composed of a core produced by twisting 2-3 metal filaments 1 having metal-plated surface and 6-8 metal filaments 2 having metal-plated surface and arranged on the outer surface of the core. The twisting pitch P of the single-layered sheath is ≥20mm and the core and the single-layered sheath have same twisting directions and different twisting pitches and twisting angles.
