To obtain a metal processing oil composition that withstands high productivity, has high processability even under a severe lubrication condition and yet controls deterioration of working environment and reduction in product qualities and does not cause rise in oil cost.

The metal processing oil composition comprises a hydrocarbon oil having density at 15°C of 0.7-0.8 g/cm3, an n-paraffin content of 20-90%, an aromatic content of 0-3% and a naphthene content of 0-20% as a base oil of metal processing oil.
