Abstract:
To obtain the composite having well-balanced characteristics of lightweightness and oxidation resistance while keeping the mechanical strength at a original level, and to provide a method for producing such a composite material.
This composite material is obtained by impregnating a specific metal silicide into a C/C composite or carbonaceous composite material derived from the C/C composite as starting material.
