PURPOSE: To greatly raise the metallic feeling of paint film formed as well as prevent the generation of bubble at the time of baking by making the SP value of the resin of a colored liquid metallic undercoat paint greater than that of the resin of the trasparent top powder paint.
CONSTITUTION: A metal element is coated with the colored liquid metallic undercoat paint directly or after applying a primaer, and then coated with the transparent top powder paint without baking, with subsequent baking and hardening processes to obtain a metallic coat. In this case, the SP value of the resin of the colored liquid metallic undercoat paint is made greater than that of the resin of the transparent top powder paint. The resins for both the colored liquid metallic undercoat paint and the transparent top powder paint are most preferably an acrylic resin.
