To eliminate bending work on a metallic base plate so as to increase durability by forming beads with synthetic resin layer or synthetic rubber resin and metallic layer formed at least one side of the flat metallic base plate in a metallic gasket in which a sealing bead is formed around a gas passing hole.
In a metallic gasket, a metallic base plate 1 is formed with flat and smooth thin sheets, multiple bores 2 are formed at its center part, and a water hole 3, oil hole, and bolt holes are formed around the periphery of it. Also beads 6 surrounding each bore 2, water hole 3, and oil hole are formed on one side of the metallic base plate 1, and a bead is formed around the periphery of the metallic base plate 1. Then these beads 6 are formed by laminating a metallic layer 9 on the surface of synthetic resin layer 8 or synthetic rubber layer covered and formed on the entire surface of the metallic base plate 1. Thus the metallic base plate 1 itself can be made in flat surface, and can prevent cracking due to metal fatigue from being developed and the bead 6 from being deformed.
