PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic coating composition that can form a coat having improved metallic glossiness, and provide such a coat.SOLUTION: A coat 1 has a primer coat layer 3 formed on a coating object 2, a metallic coat layer 4 formed on the primer coat layer 3, and a clear coat layer 5 formed on the metallic coat layer 4. The metallic coating composition that forms the metallic coat layer 4, contains a binder resin, a brilliant pigment dispersed in the binder resin, and a solvent. The brilliant pigment has metal pieces with a particle size of 5-30 μm and a thickness of 5 nm or more and less than 10 nm, with the metal pieces having a pigment weight concentration (PWC) of 30-70 mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
