PURPOSE: To provide a metallic wire for shielding electromagnetic waves, which does not cost much in manufacture and is excellent in electromagnetic wave shielding property and the electromagnetic wave shielding property of which does not deteriorate by age.

CONSTITUTION: This is a metallic wire for shielding of electromagnetic waves 15-100μm in line diameter, where an aluminum-plated layer 0.1-0.2μm in thickness is provided on the periphery of a pure iron wire, a steel wire, or a stainless wire. Moreover, this is a metallic wire for shielding electromagnetic waves 15-100μm in line diameter, where an copper-plated layer 0.1-0.4μm thick is provided on the periphery of a pure iron wire, a steel wire, or a stainless wire, and an aluminum-plated layer 0.1-0.2μm thick is provided thereon.
