To realize a capacitor having a high breakdown voltage and superior safety by improving the operation of a safety mechanism.
A first metallized film 1A has a vapor deposited electrode 4 composed of two rows of electrode pieces which are divided into two blocks at the center of the winding axis and cut with equal spacings in the winding direction on a plastic film 10. The two rows of electrode pieces are symmetric to the central margin 3 in the winding axis. Blank parts 6 without electrode are formed near both ends of the two row of electrode pieces in the winding axis direction to form fuses 7 of a low current capacity. A second metallized film 2 having narrow vapor-deposited electrodes 9 is laid on the first film 1A and wound together to form an element. Molten metal is sprayed to form electrode leads on both sides of the element. Thus small capacitors, each having a pair of electrodes, i.e., one of the electrodes 4 (electrode pieces) and one of the electrodes 9, are formed as much as the number of the electrode pieces and connected to form an interconnection structure of two series of parallel collected capacitors.
