Abstract:
To appropriately evaluate uncertainty in weather prediction without excessive analysis time (analysis scale).SOLUTION: The weather numerical analysis system 10 includes: a re-analysis system 11 which re-analyses input weather numerical analysis data and generates weather numerical analysis data; and a post-process and uncertainty evaluation system 12 which post-processes the weather numerical analysis data and generates weather numerical prediction data. The post-process and uncertainty evaluation system 12 generates uncertainty index data indicating uncertainty of the weather numerical prediction data, evaluates the level of the uncertainty of the weather numerical prediction data on the basis of evaluation reference data regarding the uncertainty and the uncertainty index data, and generates uncertainty evaluation data indicating the level of the uncertainty. Then the weather numerical analysis system 10 outputs the weather numerical prediction data together with the uncertainty index data and the uncertainty evaluation data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
