To obtain a methacrylic resin improved in transparency, heat resistance, chemical resistance and impact resistance in a high productivity without accompanying with a run away polymerization, and also to provide a transparent component, a transparent component for cars and a displaying transparent component each improved in transparency, heat resistance and impact resistance and which are, molded from the methacrylic resin.
The methacrylic resin is prepared by polymerizing a composition containing methyl methacrylate and a specified compound in the presence of a radical initiator together using an organic peroxide compound having a different 10 hrs' half life temperatures. The transparent component, the transparent component for cars and the displaying component are produced by molding the methacrylic resin.
