Title:
METHOD FOR ALIGNING COLLIMATORS TO EACH OTHER AND INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING INTENSITY DISTRIBUTION OF LIGHT BEAM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3887338
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insure that alignment is so performed as to minimize the optical connection loss between collimators arranged to face each other.
SOLUTION: The light intensity distributions of the first light beam and second light beam emitted from each of the fiber collimator 100 for input and the fiber collimator 100 for output are measured by a measuring instrument 120 arranged between the fiber collimator 100 for input and the fiber collimator 100 for output, by which the optical axis of the fiber collimator 100 for input and the optical axis of the fiber collimator 100 for output are aligned to an axis (an alignment reference axis) 202.
