Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a part for connection between an optical waveguide and an optical fiber component shifts in the setting process of resin although it is bonded by using ultraviolet-ray setting resin after both are aligned with each other.
SOLUTION: The connecting method includes a process of always measuring light power having passed through an input-side optical fiber, the optical waveguide, and an output-side optical fiber as to at least one port and adjusting the optical axes of the optical waveguide and the optical fibers in an ultraviolet- ray irradiating process for setting ultraviolet-ray setting resin after the optical axes of the optical waveguide and the cores of the optical fibers are aligned with one another by applying the ultraviolet-ray resin to a connection part between the input-side optical fiber and the optical waveguide and a connection part between the optical waveguide and the output-side optical fiber.
