Abstract:

To provide a method for fabricating a nozzle of a gas turbine engine (10) facilitating extending a useful life of the nozzle.

The method for fabricating the nozzle (51) including an aerofoil (52) comprises forming the aerofoil so as to include a suction side (60) and a pressure side (62) bonded at a leading edge (64) and a trailing edge (66); forming a plurality of slots (82) extending toward the trailing edge on the pressure side; extending a plurality of pins (150) between the suction side and the pressure side of the aerofoil in a plurality of rows such that the respective pins (152) in the first row have a cross section area of approximate ellipse and are positioned between the pins in the remaining row and the slot at the pressure side of the aerofoil.
