A web cutter 10 continuously cuts breadthwise ends of the strip web 104 by the slitter 114 while carrying the web 104 with the slip sheet 110 in peelably tight contact and draws the strip cut chips by the pinch roller 136 for carrying them to the cut chip processor 138. An uneven shape is formed on the surface of a roller in contact with the slip sheet 110 of a pair of rollers 137 and 139 constituting the pinch roller 136.
