Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING AVERAGE ARTERIAL PRESSURE IN AUTOMATIC BLOOD PRESSURE MEASURING METER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02265528
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To determine accurately a pressure by calculating it as average value of a first and a second cuff pressures and making the predetermined ratios of the first and the second to be 90%. CONSTITUTION: During the operation of an automatic blood pressure measurement system 10 a blood pressure cuff 12 is expanded, and when the pressure within the cuff 12 is gradually or acceleratedly decreased by a bulb 20, the pressure in the cuff 12 is measured by a pressure transducer 22. When the amplitude of the periodic pulse of the cuff pressure is 90% of the peak periodic pulse, an average artery pressure is computed as an average of the two pressures. For example, the average artery pressure is 118.65 (that is, a half of 130.5+106.8 is 237.3). The cuff pressure on the contraction side, when an oscillators pulse amplitude is equal to 90% of the peak value, is determined by the interpolation in the known periodic pulse amplitudes of the cuff pressures of 130 and 140. In the same manner, a specific cuff pressure on the expansion side, when the amplitude of periodic pulse is 90% of that of the peak, is determined by interpolation in the periodic pulse amplitudes at the cuff pressures of 100 and 110.
