Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for drying by which articles to be dried containing water content under preliminary drying condition can be surely transferred from a predryer to a main dryer without using a mechanical transferring means such as a belt conveyor and with a simple structure.
SOLUTION: The main dryer 14 and the predryer 16 neighbor with each other in series in the transferring direction of their respective articles to be dried and after a shutter 32 provided between the main dryer 14 and the predryer 16 is closed, an exhaust fan 26 is actuated to make the inside of the main dryer 14 under a negative pressure condition. Thereafter, the shutter 32 is opened to allow the main dryer 14 to communicate with the predryer 16 and by the negative pressure in the main dryer 14 acting to the inside of the predryer 16 by this communication, the predried articles 12 to be dried in the predryer 16 are transferred to the main dryer 14.
