Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the breakage resulting from stress or fatigue acting on the screw hole periphery of a battery terminal by coupling a battery cable with the battery terminal using a bolt member having a nut member screwed to beneath its head portion. CONSTITUTION: For fitting, a nut member 22 is screwed in by hand so as to adjoin the head portion of a bolt 20. The shaft 21 of the bolt 20 is interposed in the hole 17 of a battery cable 16 end portion 14, and is screwed into the screw hole 12 of a battery terminal 10 by several turns by hand. The nut 22 is turned by a wrench 28 as sandwiching and fixing the head portion of the bolt 20 by a wrench 26 so as to tighten the washer-like member 15 of the cable 16 to the terminal 10. This force is in an axis direction against the terminal 10 so that the same is not bent or twisted, and unfavorable stress or fatigue, which is one of the substantial cause of battery breakage, is minimized or excluded.
