Abstract:

To manufacture an absorptive article having high tensile strength in the width direction, to stabilize production, and to simplify a manufacturing process.

A method for manufacturing an absorptive article includes an absorptive body 10, a pair of first side flaps 21e provided at one end part in the longitudinal direction of the absorptive body, and a pair of second side flaps 25e provided at the other end part in the longitudinal direction of the absorptive body 10. The manufacturing method includes the steps of: (1) folding inward in the width direction continuous sheets 120 forming base materials of the first and second side flaps respectively; (2) cutting off the continuous sheets 120 at predetermined pitches in the continuous direction; (3) superposing the cut off pieces for the flaps on the continuous body of the absorptive body 10 while the continuous body of the absorptive body 10 is carried taking the continuous direction as the carrying direction; and (4) cutting off the continuous body of the absorptive body 10.
