A method of manufacturing the sheet-like member for an absorptive member having the folded section temporarily fixed in the folded state includes: (1) forming the folded section by folding a continuous sheet continuous in a conveyance direction, in the width direction of the continuous sheet; (2) making a folded line in a folded state in the folded section by pressing the folded portion continuously along the direction of the folded line of the folded section; (3) temporarily fixing the folded section in the folded state by pressing the folded section by a plurality of projecting sections provided at a pressing member; (4) producing the sheet-like member by cutting off the continuous sheet which has been subjected to both making the folded line and temporarily fixing by a predetermined pitch in a carrying direction; and (5) conveying the produced sheet-like member.
