To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a hot-rolled steel sheet, which can reduce an out-of-sheet thickness length in a leading end of the hot-rolled steel sheet to increase a yield.
A method for manufacturing a hot-rolled steel sheet includes: a step S11 of measuring a sheet thickness at a leading end of a hot-rolled steel sheet on an outlet side of a finisher rolling mill and preliminarily recording a leading end sheet thickness chart of the hot-rolled steel sheet according to steel types and sheet thickness classes; a step S12 of reading out the preliminarily recorded leading end sheet thickness chart with the same steel type and the same sheet thickness class as a hot-rolled steel sheet when rolling the hot-rolled steel sheet; and a step S16 of adjusting a roll gap of the rolling mill while taking into consideration of the read out leading end sheet thickness chart and a sheet thickness tolerance of the hot-rolled steel sheet, so as to reduce an out-of-sheet thickness length from the leading end of the hot-rolled steel sheet.
