To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a tray container product, hermetically closing and sealing a plastic tray container group by a cover film, making it hard to cut scrap after a tray container is punched in a tray container punching process and capable of facilitating the treatment of a post-process.

In a manufacturing process wherein the cover film is applied to the upper surfaces of the trays of the tray container group to be bonded thereto to hermetically close the trays and the tray container group is punched by a tray container punching apparatus to form individual tray containers and the scrap after the punching of the tray containers is continuously treated, before and after a seal process for applying and bonding a cover film 5 to the upper surface of each tray container to hermetically close the tray container, reinforcing seal processing (b) is applied to the cover film 5 and tray sheets of both side edge parts of a part where front and rear tray container groups 1 are connected by the cover film 5 to prevent the edge cutting of the scrap after the punching of the tray containers.
