Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the initial relative magnetic permeability at a low temperature and its frequency dependence with good accuracy.

CONSTITUTION: Voltages produced at both ends of the paired differential coils when a high temperature superconductor and a measurement sample are separately inserted in the atmosphere below the superconductive transition temperature of a high temperature superconductor in the paired differential coils 2 having two differential coils 2a, 2b which are disposed in a uniform alternating magnetic field and differentially connected to each other are measured through a lock-in amplifier 4. According to the measurement values, the initial relative magnetic permeability of the measurement sample is obtained.
