The method for presetting a delivery of a printer having a delivery means receiving a sheet sent from a printing unit by a delivery cylinder to convey the sheet to a sheet release means by a chain gripper, to release the sheet from the gripper by the release means and to contain the delivery sheet in a container comprises the steps of forming a preset set table for setting a preset amount of the delivery means based on sheet quality data including a type, a basis weight, a sheet size and a sheet texture, and selecting a preset amount of the delivery means corresponding to an input value of the quality data from the table.
