Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carbon fiber sliver capable of obtaining, in an excellent yield, a sliver and thus a spun yarn which contain carbon fibers in a high mixing ratio.SOLUTION: The present method is a method for producing a sliver which contains carbon fibers and includes: a fleece forming step of feeding raw stock M which contains synthetic fibers and/or natural fibers into a carding machine 3 to form a belt-like fleece F; a carbon fiber opening step of loosening and opening bundled carbon fibers C1; a carbon fiber supplying step of supplying the surface of the fleece F with carbon fibers C2 obtained by the opening; and a sliver forming step of feeding the fleece F supplied with the carbon fibers C2 into a carding machine 7 to form a sliver S.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
