Abstract:
To obtain a method for compressing image data in which the degree of image quality deterioration can be recognized at the time of compressing image data.
When image data is compressed, compression information is affixed, as tag information, to the file header of the image data. When the compressed image data is re-compressed, compression information at the time of re-compression is added to compression information originally included in the image data. Since compression record of the compressed image data can be obtained with reference to the compression information, the degree of image quality deterioration of image data obtained by unfreezing the compressed image data can be known.
