Abstract:
To efficiently separate strontium in an aqueous solution or in water-containing soil to recover or eliminate it.
A current with a current density of 50-1,000 μA/cm2 is allowed to flow between an anode 14 or 18 and a cathode 16 disposed in the aqueous solution 10 or in the water-containing soil that contains strontium ions and bicarbonate ions and/or carbonate ions in order to separate strontium from the aqueous solution 10 or the water-containing soil, and strontium is deposited as an electrodeposit 22 containing strontium carbonate, on the cathode 16.
