To provide a synchronizing method and apparatus whereby the program-pattern generating circuit of a reception side can be synchronized in a short period of time with the program-pattern generating circuit of a transmission side.
The method for synchronizing the program-pattern generating circuit of a reception side with the program-pattern generating circuit of a transmission side includes a step for so switching the program pattern of the transmission side before its pull-in to a synchronism establishing pattern as to sense a specific synchronizing pattern, a step for initializing in response to the sensing of the specific synchronizing pattern an address counter for the program-pattern generating circuit of the reception side, and a step for switching the program pattern of the transmission side to a normal program pattern after the initializing of the address counter.
