To provide a method for stably and efficiently performing coagulating sedimentation treatment in wastewater treatment.
The subject water treatment method by coagulating sedimentation comprises addition of an insoluble particulate coagulant aid and an inorganic coagulant to water to be treated. As the insoluble particulate coagulant aid, a coagulant aid having a zeta potential of less than -40 mV when added to the water to be treated, and having a specific gravity of more than 2.0 and less than 4.0 is used. It is desirable that the abundance ratio of particles of more than 100 μm is less than 5 wt.% and the abundance ratio of particles of less than 10 μm is less than 30 wt.% in the particle size distribution of the insoluble particulate coagulant aid.
