Abstract:
PURPOSE: To wind a round material having a large diameter by moving a pressure device laterally toward one flange of a drum until the distance of the pressure device from the other flange of the drum equals the diameter of the round material multiplied by a specific number.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure roller 5 is oriented in the direction of rotation following the point of contact of a round material 8 on a drum 3 and makes resilient contact with the periphery of the round material 8. A means for holding the pressure roller 5 is designed in the shape of a traverse 4, thereby shifting the pressure roller 5 in a direction parallel to the axis of the drum 3. Two sensors 7 are arranged between a pulley wheel 6 and the drum 3 below the arriving round material 8, the sensors 7 transmitting signals to a computing and control unit when the round material 8 is placed on one of the sensors 7 because of deflection toward that side. The distance between the pressure roller 5 and the other drum flange is equal to 1.5 times the diameter of the round material 8.
