To provide a method for the biological treatment of organic waste water, achieving the weight reduction of excessive sludge by incorporating an excessive sludge solubilizing treatment process in an oxidation ditch type or long-time aeration type treatment process while enhancing both of the weight reduction and dehydration properties of the excessive sludge without deteriorating treated water to reduce sludge treatment cost, and useful even from the protection aspect of the global environment.
In the method for the biological treatment of organic waste water, a first sedimentation tank or solid-liquid separator is provided to a sewage inflow part according to an oxidation ditch or long-time aeration treatment system performing sewage treatment using an activated sludge treatment tank and a final sedimentation tank without using the first sedimentation tank, and a solubilization treatment process for subjecting a part or the whole of the excessive sludge, which is subjected to the solid liquid separation in the final sedimentation tank is further provided. The sludge treated in the solubilization treatment process is returned to the first sedimentation tank or the like and subjected to solid-liquid separation along with impurities in sewage in the first sedimentation tank or the like while the separated first sedimented matter is subjected to dehydration treatment along with the excessive sludge in a case that there is excessive sludge not subjected to solubilization treatment.
