Abstract:

To provide a technique with which a cast product composed of a metal-ceramics composite material having no defect is obtained with high yield by preventing bubble caused at the initial stage of pouring molten metal, from intruding into the product.

In this casting method for the metal-ceramics composite material, in which the ceramic powder or the ceramic fiber is used as a reinforcing material and an aluminum or an aluminum alloy is used as a matrix, the intrusion of bubble into the product is prevented by casting the molten metal into a mold structure, in which a runner guiding the molten metal into the mold is formed as almost U-shape or a molten metal pool part is arranged at the lower part of the runner to obtain the cast product having no defect.
