Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provider the method, by which plural precision castings made of titanium or titanium alloy having thin thickness part can be cast with simple equipment in the high yield, good efficiency and of low cost only by one time of casting.

CONSTITUTION: The titanium material, or the titanium alloy material is melted in vacuum or inert gas at 0.01-1 torr pressure in a melting furnace and the obtd. molten titanium or titanium alloy is poured into plural cavities 11 from the lower part through a center sprue 8, plural runners 9 branched from the lower part and gates 10 upward at the end parts of the runners. Filling-up of the molten metal into the cavity 11 at this time is executed at shorter time than the solidified time of the molten metal at the min. thick part in the cavity 11.
