To solve problems wherein, in a deposition cutback system in composting animal manure, fertilization is advanced only to a part at a depth of 30 cm from the surface where the air can be brought into contact therewith, and fertilization is not advanced on the furthermore inside because of shortage of the air, and, when agitation is performed for compensation therefor, a part whose temperature is raised is exposed to cold air to lower the temperature and bad smell is scattered if an unfertilized part is agitated, and, on the other hand, if an apparatus is used instead of the deposition cutback, although such defects are eliminated, great expense is required and management thereof is troublesome.

In a method, animal manure is deposited, and manure up to a fixed depth of a part of the surface is moved onto another surface part, and the action is repeated until the whole is composted.
