Title:
METHOD OF CONSTANT SUPPLY OF MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6188960
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the change in flow rate owing to the sticking of a molten metal to plural pieces of nozzles with stoppers provided in the bottom of a vessel by discharging alternately the molten metal from said nozzles.

CONSTITUTION: The nozzles 3, 3' are provided at ≥2 points in the bottom of the vessel 2 which receive continuously the molten metal from another furnace or device 4 and tap. The specified head H of the molten metal 1 in the vessel is maintained in order to maintain the specified flow rate of the metal 1 emitted from the nozzles. The stoppers 5, 5' which turn on and off the flow of the metal 1 are attached to the nozzles 3, 3' and lifting devices 6, 6' such as air cylinders are provided thereto. The stoppers 5, 5' are moved up and down at some time intervals to turn on and off the flow of the metal 1 so that the one of the stoppers is stopped to turn off the flow while the other is held on to tap the molten metal. The molten metal is continuously tapped from the vessel 2 by repeating alternately the on and off.
