Title:
METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING OF METAL AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3297506
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for enhancing the uniformity of the heat transfer between the working surfaces of molds and molten metal and increasing the life of the mold surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: The movable die 6 is electrically grounded in order to adhere dried, electrostatically adhesive, thermally insulative superheat resistant powder particles on the working surfaces. A coating formed by a dust is extremely uniform over the substantial region of the working surfaces and is attained by the interrepulsion by the static electricity of the dry powder particles to be deposited. The dust is removed by air knives 21a and 21b from the working surfaces. The working surface is coated again by electrostatically adhering the dried dust of the protective powder particles thereto.
