To provide a method for controlling a die casting machine which improves the productivity of a product.
The method for controlling a die casting machine 1 includes: a step of performing die opening/closing with a servo motor 8 for die opening/closing as an electric power source; an injection step of injectingly filling a molten metal into the cavity of the die which has been closed with a servomotor 12 for injection driving as an electric power source; a step of progressing/retreating a core 15 into the cavity of the die with a hydraulic unit 17 as a hydraulic driving source; and a step of progressing/retreating the squeeze pin 16 into the cavity of the die with the hydraulic unit 17 as a hydraulic driving source. The core retreating step for the core 15 is practiced in parallel during the die opening step for the die, and a squeeze pin retreating step for the squeeze pin 16 is practiced during the die closing step for the die. In this way, the reduction of molding cycle time can be achieved, and the productive efficiency of the product can be improved.
