Title:
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ELONGATION PERCENTAGE IN SKIN PASS ROLLING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3167067
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control the rolling load of a mill to be almost constant by changing the rolling load of the mill and the reference of the outlet side tension in the mill only when the tension difference of a steel strip between inlet and outlet sides exceeds a prescribed upper/lower limit value in a skin pass mill.
CONSTITUTION: The rolling load of a skin pass mill 3 is controlled to be constant. The tension of a steel strip 1 is detected by tension detecting units 11, 15 on the inlet and outlet sides of the mill 3. The difference between the both of tension is compared by an operator CD4, and the tension deviation Δε is compared with the tension difference upper/lower limit value ±x, and upper upper/lower lower limit value ±y. When the deviation lies within the range of ±x, the rolling load of the mill 3 is not changed and kept constant. When the deviation exceeds the upper/lower limit value ±x, the rolling load of the mill 3 is changed, and controlled so that the elongation percentage in a tension leveler 4 is made constant. However, the tension deviation Δε still exceeds the upper upper/lower lower limit value ±y, the reference of tension on the outlet side of the mill 3 is changed. Therefore, the quality and yield of a product are improved.
