PURPOSE: To provide a method for simplifying the identification of the generation source of a problem especially when the number of process variables is increased.
CONSTITUTION: A kettle 110 is provided with a heating jacket 111, and the content of the kettle is stirred by a stirring device 114. Silver nitrate solution supplied from a silver nitrate solution supply tank 116 and salt solution supplied from a salt solution supply tank 118 is inputted through a silver nitrate solution pump 120 and a salt solution pump 122, and valves 124 and 126 controlled by a computer. The flow rate and pressure of the silver nitrate solution are monitored by a flow rate sensor 130 and a pressure sensor 128. The flow rate and pressure of the salt solution are monitored by a flow rate sensor 132 and a pressure sensor 134. The temperature, silver concentration, and pH of a content 112 of the kettle 110 are monitored by a temperature sensor 136, vAg sensor 138, and pH sensor 140. The outputs of all the sensors are supplied to a diagnostic computer 142 and a process control computer 144.
