Title:
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SHRINKAGE OF CERAMIC COMPACT BY FIRING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3274330
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and precisely control the shrinkage of a ceramic compact by firing without causing shape defects, etc., in a fired body and to intentionally control even the shape of the resultant fired body in a multilayered ceramic substrate system, etc.
SOLUTION: Ceramic powder is pretreated so that the radius(Rs) of the ceramic powder equivalent to spheres represented by the equation Rs=6/ρS [where ρ is the true density (g/cm2) of the ceramic powder and S is the BET specific surface area (m2/g) of the ceramic powder] is regulated to ≤1μm and the pretreated powder is heat-treated at a calculated treatment temp., compacted and fired. The treatment temp. is calculated on the basis of the correlation between the ratio of the size of a ceramic compact before firing to that after firing and an arbitrary treatment temp.
