To provide a method for creating a fluorescence mark indicator such as a fluorescent watermark which can be acquired without physically correcting a printing device and without using any special material and medium.
A method for creating a fluorescence mark indicator includes selecting a desired colorant combination from within an available color gamut, deriving a first dot design pattern 31 to provide the desired colorant combination, and deriving a second dot design pattern 30 to provide a colorant combination desirable for printing. The first dot design is comprised of substantially non-overlapping primary colorants to provide a high paper coverage and thereby having a property of high suppression of substrate fluorescence. The second dot design is comprised of primary colorants to provide a low paper coverage while having substantially similar average color appearance as the first dot design under normal light, and thus having a property of low suppression of substrate fluorescence. The resultant printed image suitably exposed to an ultra-violet light source, yields a discernible pattern evident as a fluorescent mark .
