Abstract:

To provide a novel tomato having a jointless trait and a method of creating the same.

There are disclosed: DNA encoding a protein consisting of a specific amino acid sequence derived from tomato that inhibits the expression of tomato DNA (LeMADS-MC gene); DNA comprising an amino acid sequence in which one or several amino acids in the amino acid sequence are substituted, deleted, inserted or added, and encoding a protein having activity of controlling the absciss layer formation of peduncle; and DNA encoding a protein having activity of controlling the absciss layer formation of peduncle.
