Abstract:
To provide a method for efficiently decomposing an alkyl hydroperoxide contained in an alkyl-hydroperoxide-containing solution.
The method comprises decomposing an alkyl hydroperoxide contained in an alkyl-hydroperoxide-containing solution in the presence of a ruthenium compound or of both a cobalt compound and a ruthenium compound and in the presence of an aqueous alkali solution. The alkyl-perhydroxide-containing solution can be obtained, for example, by oxidizing an alkane.
