Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively removing phosphorous by accelerating conversion of lime into slag, in a process of removing phosphorus from molten pig iron with the use of a top and bottom combined blown converter.
SOLUTION: This method for dephosphorizing the molten pig iron with the use of the top and bottom combined blown converter, is characterized by using a refining agent containing quicklime (CaO) as a main component, charging Al into the molten pig iron, and then performing dephosphorization blowing. In the above method, an Al charge is preferably in a range of 0.02-0.40 (mass%) in terms of an [Al] concentration in the molten pig iron.
