Abstract:

To provide a method for deprotecting 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl group from a substrate protected with 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl group in a short time and high yield by suppressing decomposition of the substrate without substantially using a base causing complicatedness of separation.

The method for deprotecting 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl group from the substrate comprises bringing the substrate protected with 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl group into contact with hydrogen by wet system in the presence of a palladium-carbon catalyst in which palladium is fixed on carbon particles having ≥1,000 m2/g specific surface area.
