Abstract:
To eliminate inhibitory actions with the final product or trouble in permeation of a sulfur-containing heterocyclic sulfur compound through a microbial cell membrane and to improve the desulfurization ratio in a desulfurization reaction of the sulfur-containing heterocyclic sulfur compound with a microorganism.
A method for desulfurizing the sulfur-containing heterocyclic sulfur compound is carried out by using ≥2 species of recombinant microorganisms in which a promoter steadily expressible without being affected with inhibition of sulfate ions and a desulfurizing gene encoding an enzyme selectively cleaving C-S bonds are transferred in an operable mode into a host microorganism.
