Abstract:
PURPOSE: To accurately discriminate whether the abnormality develops or not by comparing the measured value of an interval between paired guide rolls with the average value of the intervals each between the paired rolls at the front and the rear sides thereof ad discriminating as the development of abnormality when their difference exceeds a threshold value.
CONSTITUTION: A roll interval meter is mounted on a dummy bar 4 and the dummy bar 4 is moved on a cast slab passage of the guide roll group 3 to measure each interval between roll pairs. The measured signal with the roll interval meter is taken in a signal processor 11 and the roll interval measured value and the abnormality display are outputted to a CRT display device 12 and a printer 13, respectively. In the signal processor 11, at the time of fetching the number of roll interval values necessary to judge, the judgement of abnormality is executed for each roll pair interval. The threshold value (e.g. in the range of ±0.5mm-±1.0mm) is externally preset to the signal processor 11 to be stored.
