Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a nonwoven cloth for a planting sheet for covering seed and soil to prevent the runoff of the seed, etc., free from inhibitory effect on the growth of the root and sprout of germinated seed, having excellent softness and strength and biodegradable by microorganisms and to provide a process for producing the nonwoven cloth.
CONSTITUTION: This nonwoven cloth is a laminate of a filament nonwoven cloth and a pulp sheet interlocked and integrated with each other by a high- pressure water jet. The filament nonwoven cloth is composed of an aliphatic polyester degradable by microorganisms and containing a glycol and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or its derivative component as constituent units provided that at least one kind of said aliphatic dicarboxylic acid is succinic acid or its derivative. A part free from pulp is present on the pulp sheet-side surface of the integrated sheet.
