To provide a method and device for economically and accurately detecting a concrete defect such as rock pocket before hardening.
This method comprises a first process for applying high frequency current between a pair of measuring points a0 and a0 on the outer surface of a nonconductive concrete form 2 prior to concrete placing to detect electrostatic capacity Q1 of the form; a second process for applying, after the concrete placing work to the concrete form 2 and prior to hardening, high frequency current between the pair of measuring points a0 and a0 of the same place as the first process from the outside of the concrete form 2 to detect the sum Q2 of electrostatic capacities of the concrete form 2 and the concrete outer part contacting with the form inner surface; and a third process for subtracting the capacity Q1 detected in the first process from the capacity Q2 detected in the second process to calculate electrostatic capacity Qc of the concrete outer part before hardening. The electrostatic capacity Qc of the concrete outer part calculated in the third process is compared with a predetermined reference value QL, and when it is smaller than the reference value, a concrete defect is determined.
