Abstract:

To secure the safety of train operations by surely detecting the occurrence of rail breakage in a circulated electricity passage.

In each track circuit of a rail breakage detection system 1, a transmission section 50 transmits a track circuit ID, identification data of a self track circuit by including it in a track circuit signal, while a receiving section 20 receives the track circuit signal transmitted from the transmission section 50. The receiving section 20 extracts a signal of a frequency allocated to the self track circuit and other track circuits in the circulated electricity passage from the received signals. Then, a signal level of the extracted signal is detected to output it to a process section 30. The process section 30, when the signal level of the frequency signal of the other track circuit outputted from the receiving section 20 exceeds a predetermined allowable level, performs demodulation process to the signal to obtain the track circuit ID and presumes that an abnormality occurs in the other track circuit of the obtained track circuit ID. Then, a communication section 40 notifies the other track circuit of the track circuit ID of the possibility of occurrence of rail breakage by transmitting an abnormality presuming signal to it.
