Abstract:

To provide a method for determining the kind of a material plant of a processed food in high precision.

Determination of the material plant kind is made possible by detecting whether or not retrotransposon is inserted at a specific position of genome of an objective plant kind by determining whether or not the amplified products exist by using a nucleic acid amplifying reaction using DNA extracted from the processed food as the template. As the primer can be designed to shorten the length of the amplified products, so accurate decision is possible even if DNA extracted from the processed food is highly fragmented.
